hee ho, and hi to all helpful dudes out there.
I just need to know how you know how you can tell a real file type.
I have RM files, but don't actually seem to be?
I have also had mpg's, but wouldn't open up in TEMPGEnc, causing me to believe that they weren't "true" mpg's. Is there a sure way to find out?
Thnx in advance for any answers.

you say Y,
I say Y not? -
What you ask is problematic, since anyone can name any file anything they want. If it will open up in a program that can recognize it you obviously can then tell what type it is, but otherwise there's no sure way of knowing for all types.
I use EOVideo for most video types -- it will play RM files of every ilk (and convert them as well). I haven't found anything it won't play...yet. I'm sure there will be a time when I find a codec it can't recognize."Like a knife, he cuts through life, like every day's his last" -- Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang -
