  1. i tried to copy a dvd to vcd. and i am not sure where i went wrong. i think in the end it was disk space...i put it into the wrong partition, but with forty two i was able to make my biles.mpv, and biles.mp2......i will never understand why they are namesd that. then with ffmpegx, i joined them into mpeg1 video. this i made into bin/cue and burned with missing media burner. they played great on VLC, but when i try to pop them into my dvd player, no go. i have made vcds before (forty-two-->avi-->ffmpegx-->bin/cue) by a long way because of a problem with forty two 1.5.2 vcd's.
are the biles mpv and mp2 files not vcd complient?
when i play them on the dvd player the show frames very haltally and it doesnt show a time, just PBC PLAY in the screen, though it does recognize thatits a vcd. i think its a panasonic, not sure of model

ver interesting. in theory, what you did should work fine. They are just temp files of forty two - so i dont see why they wouldnt work. But you did get some odd results.

If your pushing your limit on HD space its difficult to make DVD to VCD because you need the space anyway, even if you didnt go the forty two route.

id suggest clearing some space then let forty two run its course
