  1. i have noticed that most vcd svcd movies that I find have files that are larger then 700mb. I only have discs that can hold up to 700mb. Is there anyway to burn a vcd that is like 775mb? Or are they basically just to watch on your computer. I would rather burn and watch it on my tv. someone please reply to tell me if there is a way... or if im scrwed! thanks

  2. A 80min/700MB CD-R can hold 700MB data in regular mode
(plus about 100MB is hidden and used for error correction.)

Since (S)VCD has its 'error correction' built in the stream,
we are able to get that 100MB back and burn about 800MB (S)VCDs.

But it requires a different recording mode.

I suggest you do a search in the 'WHAT IS' and 'HOW TO' sections.
You stop me again whilst I'm walking and I'll cut your fv<king Jacob's off.

You can use Nero to burn SVCD on cdr, just read this guide

  5. I posted in a different thread how much a 700MB CD-R can hold:

    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=178347

If you have a bin/cue, just use any program that accepts bin/cue and it will burn it without having to do anything.

If you have an MPEG, you have to create the image, Id suggest to use VCDEasy.

  8. If nero cant do it, why insist on using it?

VCDEasy can do it, 1.5.2 is free, it works, and it lets you burn 800MB mpegs on a 700MB CD-R

  9. for nero i have version 5.5.8.3 and i havent had a single problem with it at all. vcds and svcds burning with no flaws...peace of cake!!! and i have seen many issues with people using newer version of nero. one of the major ones is that on newer version of nero ..it doesnt go by size of the mpeg but by the length of the movie file. this might not of happen to many people but when i tried the newer version of nero i loaded up my 900mb mpeg file which was about 1:40:00 in length. nero loaded it up by length which turned out to be around 1gig. i was confused as to why it did that so i went back to my trusty 5.5.8.3 version and i havent had a problem on nothing yet....

    Gerardchau,
read my link above, I've been using Nero 5.5 to 6 for both VCD, SVCD, and now DVD-R burning with no problems. In fact, my Nero was down loaded from the Nero site and cracked and it works great. If your having problems, then it's probubly you and not the program.

First thing you should do is first read the guide I've linked above, then when you use Nero, close Nero express (which usually comes up as a newbie starter interface) and create a compliation as describe by the guide. If the guide is followed correctly, Nero will allow to burn up to 800mb of mpeg2 onto a standard CD-R.

@Febre: If you haven't noticed, wares is not on the list of cool things at this site. Stay clear of even mentioning stuff like "cracked", "serialz" etc.

My apologizes, I was just trying to make a point that Nero 6 was working fine, and that if care was taken to read some of the excellent guides on this site, one can easily see their mistake. I can only think of two guides which gave me a vague answer and that was related to SVCD subtitles. As for the forum rules:

    I Did NOT give warez.
I Did NOT link to warez .
I Did NOT ask for warez.
I Did NOT provide information how to obtain warez.
    I Did NOT advocate warez.

The last one might be a sticky since I did mention the 'C' word and 'S' word, which again I apologizes to ALL for my rash behavior for attempting to make a point on the validity of the program.
