I have a Canon MV530i digi cam and would like to create some SVCD's. I have captured some AV files using a fire wire and Presto Video works. I've tried encoding using Presto & Nero and the quality is rubbish blocky blurred etc. I've tried Tempenc and the finished mopg seems stretched vertically.
I'm wondering if my capture is OK - I tried Virtual dub but that seems to crash as soon as I go to the capture page.
So what is the best prog to capture with using the fire wire?
What settings should I be using?
I'm disappointed as I was hoping to transfer some old vhs home movies but if I cannot get decent quality from my digi cam what hope is there.
Please excuse a rambling post any advice pointers to suitable FAQ's would be much appreciated.
Cheers
John
