I have a Tivo that I have upgraded to a larger drive by saving the software image and then tranfering it to a new larger hard drive. I was contemplating buying a Panasonic DMR-E80 and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts or experience on how to do something simular with it?

Well, if it is like the HS2 I have, then No... you can not successfully update the drive... yet.
You can stick a new drive in the HS2, but it reformats it to 40GB (No matter what size drive you stick in).
Check out this site for more info.

Oh yea, the post that says it is a success, really goes no where.

Might surprise some, but you don't need tivo or a recorder to record tv programs, you can use snapstream.com 's software on your PC to do the same thing. It's not free but there is a trial. Also try clicktv.com if you need tv listings.
