  1. I thought I would try my luck at using smartripper to rip dvd's to the pc, and then burn to either a vcd or svcd. Smartripper ripped the dvd to the hard drive ok, but the files are too big for a cd-r. How do I break a dvd into the right size to make a vcd/svcd? I have Nero and the burning program that came with Power Director, but it only wants to burn stuff captured by Power Director. Any suggestions?

  2. i use dvd2svcd, it automatically cut my files, so all i had to do was burn. i use smartripper also with files that wont rip with dvd2svcd...it gives me the vob files that i open with dvd2avi, if you're using dvd2avi, once you load the first vob file it loads the rest of the vobs with it, just remove them and do the video vob by vob.
i guess i need more info on how many vobs you have, and whether or not you've tried dvd2svcd, dvd2avi...etc..
