i have created an audio file in virtualdub, but to be able to calculate to add my video i need to know what the rate was for the audio? how can i check the bitrate?

Load the audio file, choose "File | Properties" and it'll tell you. But if you plan to mux this audio file with a video file just take (size of video) + (size of audio) = size of MPEG (more or less, there's some padding and header info)

its not telling me? only the file size.
the file is 391mb? i don't suppose it can be worked out by that?
