On the Box it says "With original sound track" Wang Chung & Simple Minds etc.
I've only seen the VHS and on regular TV and I do recall those songs being there. Did the first DVD put out have the wrong music or are they trying to pull a fast one?
I've seen the same thing posted on the Wierd Science & 16 Candles DVD's.

Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side.

Wierd Science originally had Pretty Woman when Lisa was coming up the escalator, in the first DVD it has Weird Science by Oingo Boingo.
I've never heard anything about The Breakfast Club original soundtrack. -
According to http://www.imdb.com :
"Sixteen Candles" has two different music soundtracks. One appears in the theatrical release, and in the showings on cable TV. The other soundtrack appears in the home video.
