  1. I have recently purchased a DVD+R/RW writer but am having a little trouble with the discs. The first disc I made was on a DVD+RW that came with the drive. I figured I would use it first so I could erase it if I messed up. Well all went well so I coppied the files from DVD+RW to my hard drive then to a DVD+R and erased the DVD+RW. I then tried the DVD+R and it worked perfect. The next disc I made I used just a DVD+R disc because I figured if the first worked fine then the second should to. I went to try the DVD+R disc but it wouldnt work in either of my standalone players (which isnt totally surprising since they are cheap ones) but worked fine in both my desktop computer and laptop. So I put the exact same files on the DVD+RW disc and tried it. It worked fine just like the first one did.

So you may be thinking that my DVD players dont play DVD+R discs. But as I said before, after I coppied it from DVD+RW to my hard drive, then to a DVD+R, it worked fine in all the players. So I have come to the conclusion that it must be the crappy quality of my players unless someone has had a similar problem? Does anyone have any idea what could cause this or if I will have to go through this long process of DVD+RW to hard drive to DVD+R every time?

Im using Nero6, BUSLink DVD+R/RW drive, Memorex DVD+R discs, and a DVD+RW disc that came with the drive.

  2. Have you ever tried the burnatonce? All I use is Burnatonce and it only take 20-25 minutes for a full dvd movie. You don't have to go through a long process again. It will play with all DVD players. Give it a try see it will fix your problems. Good luck.

  3. Make sure that DVD-ROM is checked before burning in Nero 6 - it will be on the screen immediately after you select the burn icon. Also, try different media; My laptop DVD drive will not play RICOH discs.
