  1. i recently got a pioneer a06, i burned a couple movies usin nero6 and did 1 dvd to dvd copy with anydvd and dvdclone. 1 day later when i go to back up another movie the ao6 drive wont recognize when a put a dvd+r in it. it recognized when i put a dvd, cd and cd-r in it but no dvdr's at all. did the anydvd and dvdclone do something or did i just get a defunct drive. compusa where i got it at are out of stock and dont know when they will be gettin more in. need to know what i should do.

  2. I RMA'd my drive too, with a similar problem it would only burn dvd+rw and play discs.

  4. See if there a firmware update and if you can flash the firmware might fix the problem. Pioneer is known for making good DVD burner's but this is there first duel burner. i think all of these duel burner are little buggy SOny being the worst of them all.

  6. the firmware is not the problem here because both units (i think) were working just fine but died suddenly.

i update it and it's done nothing. the only thing i know is that i won't buy a pioneer drive never again.

too much people with this kind of problems and that 4x media bug in older drives...

If you read through the following link, yes a bit long but be patient:

you'll notice that this seems to be a software issue and clonedvd seems to be the culprit, and switching to other burning softwares should solve your problem.

I have had a my CDR drive just stop working one time could not burn crap. One thing shut down all power hit the switch on the back of your PC.kill all power for 10 to 15 minute's then turn back on it might work again if not shut down again over night then turn it back on. Some time's ram can keep some thing living in data and does not want to die. I know this sound wacky but it worked for me one time and I never had problem's again.

  11. ok so the question now that its pretty much a problem between the software and burner. ( i think it goes a lil further and includes problem between software and windows xp too) so i know i can burn dvd-r just fine usin the a06 and anydvd with clonedvd, so is benifit one way or the other between dvd+r and dvd-r or are they just different formats of basicly the same thing
