  1. I saw this in last Sunday's paper but did not get a chance to get by Office Depot until today (Friday, August 29th): two 15 packs of Verbatim 4x DVD +R media for $33.95. It works out to $1.13 before sales tax. They did not have any on the shelves but the guy at the store was good enough to check his inventory and they had some.

I believe this sale runs through Saturday.

  2. and this just backs my point that i've said all along which is that high quality DVD+R MEDIA can be gotten cheaper then -R media. There's no magic there..especially when you compare two equal speeds. This is the best deal to date...although I personally won't ever use a Verbatim disk again, however, those 4x +R disks are MCC manufactured and should be ok. That beat the 4x DVD+R sale BB had on 4x +R memorex media which worked out to about $1.20 a piece.

    It's getting cheaper and cheaper.....

FYI, I don't know about the ones from Office Depot, but I've gone through about 4-5 15-packs of Verbatims (both 2.4x and 4x) from Best Buy, and they have all been RICOHJPN. I think Verbatim might use MCC for some of the -R's though.

  5. @Metaluna, if you've read any of the Verbatim threads, you'd know that Verbatim has at least 7 different manufacturers of it's media.

I have some 4x +R Verbatim's I have not used...they are Data "LIFE" but the media id is MCC (Mitsubishi Chemcial Corp.)

dvds for 11 cents each? I don't think so.......cd's are usually free after rebate anyway.

dvd-rs are under a dollar online, some 80 cents.

  10. Woops sorry! The Imations are CDR's for those who havent seen the ad. I feel like going back tomorrow and buying everything again. The deals are too good to pass up.

  11. I picked one of these up myself. They only had one spindle left, so they gave it to me for half price. the only thing I"m worried about is on another board they were saying these are crap disks.
I tried looking up the disc info using DVDInfo but for some reason I just get this. That's weird eh? I can't tell if its CMC or whoever...
I burned a 4.3 gig image to it. haven't tested it yet though.
I'm going to test it soon.

Where does MCC fall on the quality spectrum? Their CDR qaulity is supposed to be very good.

  13. This is the info I got from the Verbatim discs I bought from this special at Office Depot (in Northern California). Mine are Ricoh made.

Overall..they are Excellent..and only surpassed by Taiyo Yuden manufactured Verbatims. However, I can tell you that there is no doubt that MCC is producing inferior Verbatim disks now as well as CMC.

Yesterday I was 0-5 ...zero good burns... 5 bad burns...they were MCC Verbatim disks @4x ...and were "DATA LIFE" NOT "DATA LIFE PLUS." As i've mentioned countless times before,...it's a myth that DATA LIFE or DATA LIFE PLUS mean anything. At one time they may have...at this time they do NOT. I said months ago I will never BUY another Verbatim disk again..and the five coasters I made with the MCC DATA LIFE disks were disks which I did not pay for..so I was only out my time.

If that answer is confusing...stay away from Verbatim disks...there are MANY better choices out there..and MANY better choices for a fraction of the price.

  15. The deal still works, but now they're $5 less. I ordered 2 packs of +r and 2 packs of -r yesterday (Monday) and picked them up for under $50, including tax.

    1) Order by Item #
    447-220 (+R)
    449-659 (-R)

    2) Select In-Store pick-up - Price will be higher and I'm not sure coupon will work if you try to have them shipped.

    3) Add coupon to cart:
    69629846 - buy 1 get 1 free
    15863697 - $15 off $50 if your order is over $50 with 1st coupon

  16. I just placed an order of DVD+R for in-store pickup. But now I see on the confirmation that this item is non-returnable. I won't buy them under that condition.

  17. I used the deal last week from OD when the price was higher, but just got an order in a few minutes ago for the 5.00 less each. Comes out to $43.46 + Tax for 30 +R's and 30 -R's (0.72/ea + Tax). The CMC's have worked out fine so far. Haven't tried the Ricoh's yet. Just an FYI, the 2 for 1 coupon expires today and the 15.00 off 50.00 shows 9/18.
