  1. I am getting my computer upgraded and was wondering what is the minimum system requirements for dvd ripping as I would like to upgrade above the minimum. My processoris AMD K6 400
Only have 64mb RAM and a 6.5 GB hard drive. Apart from needing a DVD rom I was wondering how much RAM and how much drive space i need. Your help would be very appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

  4. If you only work one rip -> movie at a time then about 7~10GB free is enough. Ram doesn't matter as much as CPU. I had a K6-2 500, it took me 18hrs to encode a 90min DivX source to VCD. Now I have a Tbird 1.2Ghz and it takes me 1.1x the source runtime per pass in CCE and about 3x the source runtime in TMPGenc for SVCD.

Haven't done VCD in a while, I think it was like 0.9x the source runtime

  5. I take it windows 98 is enough and I wouldn't need to upgrade to windows 2000.
