I am using DVIO to capture from my Canon dv which works fine. When I try and run it through Virtul Dub to edit, I get the following message. Can you help with this? Also, if I try to CAPTURE with Virtual Dub, it locks on to my WIN 2000 signal and doesn't find to DV camera. Am I missing codecs? and if so, which ones? Thanks

It might help others in your situation if you posted your solution to this problem, and possibly prevent the same question to be asked again?

Well, I didn't actully solve the problem. I worked around it by putting the avi file thru TMPG and converting it to mpeg 1, then editing it. I still can't get Virtual Dub to edit with avi.

  9. Unfortunatelly, no chance to capture DV from virtualdub.
But there is DVIO : nice, simply and freeware program with possibillity to choose type of DV (1 or 2)

i didnt say you could capture using v-dub (to dv) , i said you could edit dv files after installing the mainconcept codec (and the panasonic one works also - though more generation loss) ... v-dub uses vfw , which the above codecs support but not the ms built in one ..
