  1. I have encountered some burns where I can play the DVD-RW's in my computer but NOT in my standalone players. Other DVD copies I have burn correctly and play in both computer and standalone player (RP62 requires DVD-R to play but RP91 plays all formats including DVD-RW).

Is it something in the IFO or other file(s) that change to cause some problem with standalone playback?

Obviously the software (Nero 6) is burning correctly as most DVD copies burn and play correctly but some (i.e. Tux, Liar, Liar, and Phonebooth) will only play on my computer.

    My setup specs below:
    Pentium 4 2.667GHz.
    512MB Rambus
    two 80GB HD's
    Sony DRU-500a DVD-burner
    Nero 6 software
Sony DVD+RW discs (I use DVD-R discs for permanent copies after verifing DVD-RW works on RP91)

  2. OK! I'm an idiot! It just popped into my head why these certain DVD's will play on my computer but NOT on my standalone players. I had forgotten that I was given these by a relative in Europe and I used to have a DVD player that could play NTSC and PAL DVD's well now I don't and when I tried to play these DVD's (orignals or copies) they won't play because they are PAL and my players only playback NTSC!

I guess I am glad in the fact that it is not a burner, player or DVD player issue!

    So NEVER MINDDDDDD!

Well, interesting, I got regular Canadian Panasonic RV32 and it does play PAL VCDs, never had a chance to try a PAL DVD thou....

I'll prolly d/l a PAL test DVD file and burn it to see if it works on RV32.
