Hi everyone, I've got a question about DVD2SVCD and its deinterlacing features. Firstly, I've got an interlaced PAL DVD that I want to backup (to SVCD) - my question is, is deinterlacing required? I know/think that "Telecide(PAL)" and "SeparateFields/SelectEvery (PAL)" are the methods to use for an interlaced PAL source, when deinterlacing. However, am I able to just set DVD2SVCD to "No deinterlacing," with both "Progressive Frames" and "Zigzag scanning order" (in CCE) ticked? Is this a recommended method to use? I've also read in the DVD2SVCD FAQ, that you can keep the video interlaced, by setting "Keep interlaced," whilst unticking "Progressive Frames" and "Zigzag scanning order." I've got one problem with this, it removes the borders, thus making it 4:3I have tried samples with "No deinterlacing" selected, and found no problems with the output, but yeah, I'm just wondering if I'm losing video quality by doing this
? If so, which deinterlacing method would you suggest? Thanks in advance.
Oh yeah, I intend to watch this backup on the TV only, not on the computer.

Do not de-interlace if you can avoid it, you WILL lose quality. If the source is interlaced, (you say it is) and the target format supports interlacing (mpeg-2 does) then leave it interlaced.
