nec 1300a new v1.07 firmware???

Recently upgraded my nec 1300a dvd writer to 1.06 region free firmware
and flashed fine in dos mode (backed up origional firmware). Now a new version 1.07 firmware has been released by NEC. But comes with a windows based software flash program, but it doesn't detect my dvd drive
(ie target not found) at all.Any ideas?

Where did you get this 1.07 firmware? I will try it out also sonce I still have 1.05.

Hi all, according to the nec site if you have the 106 update ( win or dos) you do not need the 107 update (win) they are the same

Hi there, can you post the NEC web site address for downloading firmware? I prefer to get the official firmware from them.

I found nero 6.0.0.11 latest version seems to be still incompatable with the nec 1300a. it seems to crash/hang nero at the end of burning discs or on completion of dvd burn. (i have only tried two different brands 1x dvd-rw discs at the moment). Havent been brave enough to try the 4x princos I got with the drive yet.

Any suggestions on what alternate dvd burning software to use, instead of nero or is the latest supposed firmware compatable with Nero 6?
