  1. Hello!

I have this problem,I want to burn movie Matrix on one DVD-r without extras and menus. The movie alone is around 4.7 gb in size,so it wont fit on one dvd-r,so I tried to rip the movie with Smartripper but without the last chapter(there are only end credits)..So I get a size around 4.3 gb
But when I trie to convert the movie(strip/split) with DVDFab - it only recognizes the whole movie(with the last chapter also). How is that possible if I ripped the movie without the last chapter?

And why must movie be 4.36 gb to fit on one dvd-r if the media can containt up to 4.7 gb???

    Help please!

  2. 4.7 billion bytes physically translates into roughly 4.3 gigabytes logically

Since you only want the movie, why don't you use Decrypter to rip it, just the main movie.

Next use IC7 to compress it, since it doesn't need to be smashed down much.

After you get it out of IC7, you have to convert the pdi files to an ISO file.

Next I loaded it into daemon tools.

    Reripped it with decrypter.

went to the directory and deleted the IFO and BUP files.

opened IFOedit, got my VTS sectors, region free-ed it and created my new IFO and BUP files.

Then checked it out in WinDVD 4...it was good to go

Used IMGtools to create an image file of the VIDEO_TS folder (has to be in the root directory of a drive...example - C:\VIDEO_TS)

Then burnt with Decrypter. Mine works fine.

The reason that it recognizes the last chapter even though you didn't rip it is because the IFO file still references that last chapter, therefore it still exists.

You might try deleting your IFO and BUP files then use IFOedit to remake them since you are one chapter short of the original. I would use Daemon tools though before burning it to make sure I wasn't going to burn a coaster.

IIRC some rippers and MOST transcoders have issues with The Matrix due to its wacky extensive use of angle switches and branching with that damn "bullet time" and "follow the white rabbit" stuff.

There's another thread on it from about 2 weeks ago, might want to look that up.
