  1. I've done this before on an old installation of windows xp but I had to reinstall my OS and now I can't get it to work. So basically I found out first i open my .ts file with the hdtv compatible dvd2avi with the vfapi plugin installed. Then I need to convert the d2v to a fake avi with vfapi converter. Then i can open it with windows media encoder 9 and start the encoding. The problem is i make my d2v files and then when i try and open it with vfapi converter the program stops responding and I get no errors. Can anyone help me make the vfapi converter work?

    Thanks

  4. well i came up with another way to make this work and thought i'd pass it on. First I use hdtvtompeg2 and convert the .ts files to .mpeg files, then i open with the hdtv compatible dvd2avi then i make a fake avi with vfapi. For some reason it works this way except i need a lot of temporary hard drive space 2x the previous method i was using because you have the .ts files and the .mpeg files. I can then open the avi with wm9 encoder and then encode my files. It takes a long time though about 22times the length of the video to do the encoding, but oh well, needs to be done.
