Macrovision: What about my own stuff?

I would like to make DVD to VHS copies using material that I photographed, authored, and burned myself. The goons of Hollywood have nothing to do with this material. I need the VHS end product because many of the folks that I want to give my material to do not have DVD players. I would like to purchase a basic DVD player specifically for this purpose, but before I spend the money, I need to know if "Macrovision", or any other type of copy protection is going to foul up DVD to VHS copies of this type. Comments?
