I want to add subtitles using Virtualdub. How do I do it? How do I display subs with the movie? What Player Do I need? Do I need to rip the .vob to .avi first using FlaskMPEG or after. I am totally lost. Please someone make it simple for me! I have read the articles here on this site and http://www.digital-digest.com, but still not clear at all.
Thanking you in advance.

Ok first you can do this in VDub and it's fairly easy. But it depends on the source.
For DVD, use VobSub (http://www.flexion.org/video/DVDConv/DVD2AVI/) has info on how to do this to make VCD, just make a DivX instead.
If you want to add subtitles to a to a pre-existing DivX file you'll need to d/load SubStation Alpha and it's VDub filter:

If you have a .sub subtitle file, which has exactly the same name as the DiVX in the same dir, media player will also play the subs.
