How can i fit other blank media on my dvd writer

Hi,
i would like to know if it's possible to fit other DVD+R on my NEC ND-1100A because i can write DVD only on HP media. Firmware update can help to write on generic or other company media?

You should be able to write to quite a few locally available DVD+R brands.

Take a look at this:

FYI: Any disk made by Ricoh is a quality disk.

humm many review say that is no problem with verbatim media but i bought verbatim datalifeplus 4.7GB and try to obtain info with dvdinfopro but the status say 'No media is present'. The same thing hapend with generic media... :\ i see the firmware revision is 1.90 ... an update can change something?

Firmware updates provide compatibility with new media types
(not other formats!)

Not all the FW versions give you info on blank media.
