  1. Was wondering if I can put a 16:9 movie and a 4:3 movie on the same DVDR? Will this cause any problems?

I'm using DVD-lab to author and I'm getting the warning that it MIGHT cause problems.... anyone with thoughts on this?

    Thanks,

    Tim

  2. There is a limitation in the DVD-Video specification where you can not change the resolution or aspect ratio within one VOB file. No reason why it can't change on a disc itself, though.

An authoring application worth it's salt should be aware of this and not try to merge the two into one VOB.

  3. So as long as each movie is it's own seperate VOB (or VOB's), I should be OK?

    Thanks again,

    Tim

get a rewritable disc and check it out.

I intentionally authored a disc with 720x480 and 352x480 video clips on it (I wanted to see the difference in capture resolution on my tv).

I got the same warning, disregarded it, put the disc in my player, and it played fine. Some players may not like it, though, so you should try with a rewritable disc.
