  1. hey i just built up a new computer with the graphics card geforce fx 5200 and if i try to watch something it freezes on random times every time. i uninstalled directx 9 cause i heard it was unstable and it still freezes even though my friend had the same problem and did the same thing and it worked for him. any help pls??

  6. I used to have ffdshow installed which froze my WMedia player.
    Uninstalled and it worked fine.
    Might have been something else that just didnt like ffdshow but it worked, and i no longer use ffdshow anyway.

  7. Are you sure that you'd successfully "rolled back" from DirectX 9, have you run the DirectX diagnostic program to check which version is running?

    I've not had a single issue with DX9 on any of my machines, not saying is not hte problem but if 3 machines have no issue with it then how bad can it be?

    What kind of mobo and CPU are you using? Have you installed all the latest drivers for it? Sometimes that can make a HUGE difference.

  9. Silly question, but did you make sure the card is fully seated properly in the AGP slot? Is the powerfan working properly?
