I have a Gateway, less than two years old, with a Pentium III, 300+ chip, the nVidia G card, extra memory, and 19.0GB hard drive and a DVD drive. I was thinking of adding an internal CD-R drive, the LiteOn 16/10/40 ($100)and a new sound card that had a Toslink outlet for my minidisc recorder. But wondered if I should also opt out for a new motherboard with a newer, faster chipset...the AMD one.
Or would it be cheaper just to shop for a new tower with these qualities?
2nd, I bought the Panasonic RV-31K dvd player, and just saw posted by someone that if it doesn't have the sticker on the front panel, "Plays MP-3's", it doesn't. Is that true?
I don't have a mp3 to check this out yet, but it is one of the reasons I bought it! Any advice would be appreciated here or offline: Lyndy46@yahoo.com
