I have an outdoor radio surveillance camera thats linked up to my TV and video. However thats no good if I go away, the video will only record for 3 hours or so. I have a motion detector that will switch on a light or set off an alarm if it detects motion. I want to put this beside the camera. What can I do so that the detector would start the video/camera only when it detected motion and stop after the motion had stopped?
Is their any sites that deals with this?

Is this X-10 or RCA equipment, 2.4 ghz wireless?
They have a "VCR Commander" unit that only turns on the VCR for specified time when motion is detected.
I have one, never yet set it up, but believe it records as long as the "disturbance " is present, then shuts off after a given period of no motion.
You can check it out at x10.com .I hope it's OK to give this link, as it's not video related, so not competitive. -
No its not X-10 but is 2.4 ghz wireless. Got the camera kit from aldi last week. The quality seems excellent. I'm sure there is some way of setting it up so that it will just sense and record movement. Was a bit warey of X-10 cams as there are so many different camera kits that you wouldn't know what to order or what u'd get either!
Anybody get any kit from them?
