Hello. I took some video from a computer which captures footage from 6 different security cameras. I took it straight from the directory of where the program saved the footage. The files are in .264 extension format. They played on the security computer in something called TCVPlayer I think. But I cant seem to get the files to play on my home computer at all. I tried multiple video conversion programs but none of them worked for me. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide me with.

  2. It sounds like it is a raw h.264 video stream.

You probably need to put it into a container in order to view it.

Use mkvmergegui to put it into a .mkv container

For viewing on PC, you need to have ffdshow and haali media splitter installed and view it with media player classic, or you should be able to view it with vlc media player (without installing the other 2)

    Cheers

security footage is most likely using a custom modified encoder and/or password locked. try using a copy of the tcvplayer from work on the home computer. is it a honeywell system?
