  1. When backing up my Disney titles, DVD2AVI gives me 'weird' repetitive frames during "Preview" option. It happened with my Beauty and the Beast and now same with Tarzan.. It'll play for a couple of seconds, then play the same frames again before moving on.. thruout the movie.

    Anyone? thanks.

How are you backing up exactly? Most Disney movies have multiple angles for showing different titles (usually opening and end credits) in different languages and depending on how you're ripping the data, you'll get what appears to be duplicate frames in the way you describe.

Assuming you're using Region 1 DVDs, when you're ripping make sure you choose Angle 1 to get english titles. I use DVD Decrypter and have no problems.

  3. Hey
I tried beuty and the beast also and got errors 30% through the ripping.
I tried smartripper, dvd decrypter, & clad dvd. I tried various settings mentioned in the forums and it would lock up at the same place. Tried two diffrent dvds of the movie and also tried it on a different machine.
    Am I missing something?????

  4. Ahh.. Yes, I used DVD Decrypter to rip in File mode.. then how do I rip??

Also, is this why I'm getting a an error in Maestro when trying to import ac3 file?? Error is this: "Cannot locate frame SYNC word at an expected byte offset. Data might be corrupted. (0xc1070042)". ???

    thx.

  5. I did Beauty and the Beast with DVD2ONE and got it to work right.

The .vob preview skipped when I played the ripped files like you described, but it burned correctly. I used DVDDecrypter in file mode and ripped the main movie files that were automatically selected. Nero to burn.

  6. I personally think they introduce authoring errors to try to protect their content. I had Atlantis (original DVD-Video, not copy) that would not play in my settop player until I had tech support tell me the sequence of keys to hit.

They are so paranoid and are big supporters of copyright extension (early Mickey Mouse would be public domain if they hadn't got Congress to extend the limits).
Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin'
