  1. We can talk about what you prefer but...

While at Electronic Botique, I had said to the clerk that I like the original SW trilogy as opposed the SE version. He exclaimed that " I like the SE versions" claiming "that's what Lucas original intended you to see". He went on to say he liked all SE or Director's cuts better saying "that's the way the director intended you to see it".

I guess when the super calafrajalistic xbalidishiss version of SW comes out in 200? THAT will be the verion he likes best. Unless a new version comes out after that or a newer version...

I'm suprised to find a person realy taken in by an obvious marketing ploy... I mean the guy works at an EB and... oh right.

    Like lemmings to the cliff.
Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side.

  2. if i have a choice, i'll rent/buy a directors cut if the price is the same or within a couple of dollars.. but i'm not going to buy a movie, then buy the limited edition, then the collectors edition, the the special edition, the limited special edition, the limited special collectors shiny disc edition..

unless its a movie i really really like..

when will "dark angel: the ascent" be on dvd?

I think it was P.T. Barnum that said "No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the public"...

I've given up arguing with most people about what constitutes a good movie vs. a piece of crap. Usually my cue to stop talking to them is when they say "I just go to the movies to be entertained, I don't want to have to think about what I'm watching..."

god forbid you might have to think while being entertained...

  6. I have to admit to buying both the regular 2-disc version of fellowship of the ring, then the 4-disc extended collectors edition a few months later. I won't do tha same for The Two Towers, I will wait the 4-disc collectors edition and buy just that one.

but does the 2-disc version have anything the 4-disc version doesnt (or hasnt been re-hashed for the 4-disc version)?

I didn't get the 2-disc version, but from what I read at the time, they tried to minimize overlap in the special features so people wouldn't feel ripped off for buying both...

  9. T2

There are at least 3. I have the slimed down stream line non special edition plastic cover version.

I've seen two others. The all metal one and the metal one with the terminator on it... I think that's the newest.

I want to rent it just to see the stuff that was cut out but, I don't usualy like stuff cut back in.

EX the Aliens SE version. I don't mind whole cut scenes put back in, like the part where they show people living on the planet before the marines show up.

I don't like when they cut back in small bits, like when they are going over the amunition... it seem to kill the flow of the film.

I never really got around to watching all the extras on both versions, so I can't say wether the 2-disc set had something the 4-disc set didn't. I really only bought the 4-disc set for the extended editiion of the movie itself.

How many versions of Evil Dead and Army of Darkness are there? I think there are more than Terminator.
