  1. I am lost, I want to start archiving my favorite tv shows on cd and be able to play them on the dvd player. My dvd player is VCD complient but I don't have a clue if it is 1.x or 2.0.

Any way what I want to know is, Is this possible would it be worth the trouble, and how many cd's are we talking for a one hr show at VHS (stereo) or better quality. I also need to know what I need to get software wise. I know I need a another HDD and a Capture card but what else?

I have read a lot of stuff on this site and others and this one seems to have the least opinions on it. please help
