I am lost, I want to start archiving my favorite tv shows on cd and be able to play them on the dvd player. My dvd player is VCD complient but I don't have a clue if it is 1.x or 2.0.
Any way what I want to know is, Is this possible would it be worth the trouble, and how many cd's are we talking for a one hr show at VHS (stereo) or better quality. I also need to know what I need to get software wise. I know I need a another HDD and a Capture card but what else?
I have read a lot of stuff on this site and others and this one seems to have the least opinions on it. please help

I'd like to reply with an additional question since it applies :
If I own a firewire equiped Mac G4 and my digital camcorder is firewire do I still need to purchase a capture card ? dopy imovie recognizes the camera but so far Premiere will not.
