hey i am tryin to convert a MPG into an AVI file. The MPG file is around 217 Mb, i want it to turn into a low quality AVI with around 40 Mb. I used Vdub and Nandub to try to convert, but then the file came out to hav sound dat doesnt really match the video's...(its like the sound comes 2-4 seconds before the character speaks)...wen i tried direct stream copy it comes out to be around 200+ MB, does anyone kno why this happens?
[Im doing it on full processing mode with 8000Hz sampling rate while converted into MPEG Layer-3 audio with 4Kb/s (32 Kbits/s, 8000Hz Stereo)]
thanx in advance

First of all, use a bitrate calculator to estimate the bitrates you use for AVI clip. It's not very accurate, but I don't think it could be off by 160MB. You must have configured it wrong somewhere.
