I seem to have successfully imaged to my G4 a DVD (of TV programming) that was burned in my Philips DVDR75. I used DVD_Imager and then Apple's Disk Copy. The problem is that while the resulting DVD will play on the Mac and in my Pioneer DVD player, it won't play in three others I tried it in: the Philips, a Sony or a portable Toshiba... even though all are supposed to play DVD-R disks, and have worked with other disks.
On the Sony, I get a "disk is dirty" message. On the others, nothing.
I know there is discussion of how funky the Philips burns disks, but it would seem that if the disk plays in some places, it should play in others. I even tried two different brands of blank disks (TDK and Memorex).
Am I missing something? Any suggestions? Thanks much.

Go figure. I successfully burned another copy of this material, using Toast disk imaging. It plays in ALL the DVD players I mentioned before -- except the Pioneer! It would be really nice to find a way to make one disk that will work in all the players, but perhaps that is asking too much.
