  2. Use different media for each one !

What media have you tried so far ? You might find you need something with a little wider compatibility. My Sony is a nightmare when it comes to DVD-R compatibility but the following work very well:

    Nan-Ya
    Ritek G03 & derivatives
    Ritek G04 & derivatives
TDK G002 (genuine and some clones)
    e-Proformance (prodisc, IIRC)

If I don't go to the edge:

    Bulkpaq Turquoise
    Choice Media

And I can't use these on ANYTHING !!

    Vivastar

And the list goes on. Basically, if you're using mega nasty Jap-Crap media then try something else, but look into the manufacturer NOT the "brand" because most of the media manufacturers make media for other people, so you could end up buying the same discs twice and not knowing about it until you got home !

If you are using a later version of Nero (v5.5.10.15 or later, I use 5.5.10.7b with no problems) try 'DVD Video'. The latest one of v5.5 which is v5.5.10.42 should be near perfect in 'DVD Video' mode.

Also garryheather is correct, I have had glitches in the video when I use IMATION DVDs on my player, but No.1 favourite is TDK, oh so sweet.

  4. Yep .... media is definitely a major factor .... I prefer Ritek myself ... they have always performed 100% for me.

As mentioned above, grab the latest version of Nero 5.5.10.42 and try the Wizard for DVD-Video. The earlier versions of Nero did produce slightly non DVD compliant files, but this has now been sorted out.

    you are right

but some of the original dvd video dvd player that came out before udf 1.50 had become standardized don't

like say this 5 disc hitachi that i sold to a neighbor for $40.00 because it had that problem. it will play udf 1.50 discs but not udf 1.02 discs

that was why i got rid of it
