ulead dvd movie factory will allow you to author via VCD or DVD, your choice. It will tell you the resulting file size, you can then use it to cut it to fit to your chosen format. For each additional disk just cut it at the previous disks stop point, ect....

Just split using TMPGEnc or MPEG2Cut then author using your favorite app.
My AVI -> Any Format Guide is available here.
My Frame Resize Calculator (enhanced for Virtualdub) is available here

  4. @bugsbunny,

what type of "large MPEG file" you have???

you sure it's VCD MPEG-1...or could it be SVCD MPEG-2??? and is it standard, compliant???

    -----------------

IF YOU HAVE A STANDARD COMPLIANT VCD MPEG-1

    to make VCD...

first split your large MPEG file into 795 MB segments using TMPGEnc: https://www.videohelp.com/tmpgencedit.htm

then, burn them to VCD using Nero: https://www.videohelp.com/nero.htm

    to make DVD....

https://www.videohelp.com/vcddvdr.htm (you can directly author VCD MPEG-1 on a DVD and it should be fully standard, compliant DVD because VCD specs are accepted by DVD specs)
