  2. yes just use an As400 as the hub..

The electronic components of the power part adopted a lot of Rubycons.

  3. I'll have to go with other. Let's get real, how would a MAC or PC stack up against a Cray?

RabidDog, man you brought back memories with your AS400 reference! I used to do assemble language programming on one that was running an IBM370 emulator. Also did some JCL and COBOL. Guess I'm getting old!

Man, to experience the thrill of debugging from a core dump once more!
Just what is this reality thing anyway?

cjb1118: With OSX its very easy to move files betweent he 2 if thats what you mean. The best is mixed platform, each for what its good at.

I use each for what they're good at so I couldn't even say which I like better. I use my PC for DVD authoring, pixel-based image editing, and games and I use my Mac for video editing, vector-based image editing, other design work, and for surfing the net. All the computers in my house are networked using PCMACLAN and the only thing that bugs me is when sometimes I save a file on the Mac and it doesn't put a file extension on it.

We had a Cray at school that I don't think was utilized much at all. It was liquid-cooled and actually heated the building in the winter. I heard some pretty amazing things about it. Some computer science students wanted to work a program for it so that it would do SETI@home number-crunching

If you are going to chose Commodore, then I guess I'll have to get my old TI99-4A out of storage and fire it up.
Or better yet, my old Sinclair ZX-81 is still somewhere in the attic.

DAVE is great -- we use it also ..

poll is flawed .. how about "both" ... both have good and bad points . and thank goodness for choices ...

    also "best" for what ?

server, database number cruncher , weather forcast , web server , play quake, copy a cd otr dvd, write emails , etc , etc ?

I agree with BJ_M. If there were a BOTH id recast my vote.
This was a strange post anyway, because it asks which is the best (also a BJ_M points out what does BEST mean) but then asks if they can be networked.

Anyways, DAVE is a great app for netowrking a MAC and PC together.
Been using it since it came out.

I've always found DAVE to be a little bit flakey, and PC Maclan to be well uhm, tottally unuseable. That aside in the lastest versions of OSX there is nothing that stops you from shareing files with a PC without a single bit of 3rd party software involved.

No seriously, I would love to own a Mac but it is too pricey for me.
