    ok do you want permanent subtitles, or selectable subtitles. and no you cant use AC3 sound on an svcd. you can use DVD2SVCD, to make an svcd, and you can put permanent subs, or selectable subs.

  3. vobsub/vdub: https://www.videohelp.com/sefy/?id=frameserv3.html

    so, you would still basically use SmartRipper's "movie mode" or DVDdecryptor w/ multi-angle processing enabled to rip the files.... then, you would still use DVD2AVI to create the .wav audio file and .d2v project file. however, this time there's an aditional layer of vdub/vobsub to add hardcoded subs..and you would frameserve from vdub to TMPGEnc...

    ----------

    or you can try FlaskMPEG: https://www.videohelp.com/dvdtovcdflask.htm

    this time, you need to rip using smartripper's "file mode" or DVDdecryptor w/ multi-angle processing disabled because FlaskMPEG requires that no multi-angles be removed...

    once you load the vobs into FLASKMPEG, it'll allow you to specify the angle (in case of multi-angles or seemless branching), the audio, and any subtitles you want.

    you can directly frameserve from FlaskMPEG to tmpgenc...no need for dvd2avi.

  4. I use VobSub and Avisynth to added subtitles to my SVCDs.
    Ejoc's CVD Page:
    DVDDecrypter -> DVD2AVI -> Vobsub -> AVISynth -> TMPGEnc -> VCDEasy

    DVD:
    DVDShrink -> RecordNow DX

    Capture:
    VirualDub -> AVISynth -> QuEnc -> ffmpeggui -> TMPGEnc DVD Author
