Hi all, used Vidomi 2 make Star Trek Nemesis and enocded @ 800 kps 1-pass & 128 mp3. (Fits on 90min cdr sweet!) Got nice result execpt for 1 scene where this is a laser fight (lots of flashes) and it turns to puss - really blocky, but the rest of the movie is so smooth and clear.
I have tried encoding @ higer bit rate but no joy, unless u go DVD bit rate which is pointless.
Does this have anyting 2 do with changing the 1-pass CBR to 2-pass??? VBR? And what does motion threshold slider do, will this help?
I want to try to re-encode it without the blocky effect any ideas on tweaking DivX 5.05

Always use 2-pass VBR encoding with DivX, it gives the best results.
Try GordianKnot, an all-in-one package.
Head on over to doom9.org, there are guides there.
