  1. I have .avi files encoded with DivX that were ripped from a DVD. When I tried to make a VCD with those .avi files. Everything goes fine until I watch the VCD. In some areas of the VCD, I hear pops, clicks and hisses, then the video on the TV is all screwd up. Like I get weird color boxes on my TV, then I hear those weird sounds from my speakers. I used Nero 5.5 to burn my VCD. Is there something wrong with the VCD? Or is it the files I used to burn them with?

  6. I can't. When Nero finishes converting the .avi file to VCD format, it burns it right away afterwards.

  7. you're actually letting Nero convert for you??? the golden rule is to NEVER EVER let nero convert anything for you. only use nero to author/burn.

    -------------

you need to manually conver the Divx to VCD or SVCD...depending on the quality of the source, the desired output quality, and if your dvd player can support SVCDs or not.

    1. check here if your dvd player supports SVCDs: https://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers

    2. if you have a high quality Divx rip, then i would suggest you to convert to SVCD....if you wanna keep the good video quality.

    3. if you have low quality Divx rip, then there's really no point to convert to SVCD because the source is already crap..in this case, VCD will be fine.

    which will it be......

you have access to the original DVD..cuz going from DVD to VCD is a lot better than from Divx to VCD.
