  1. I have several 8 mm tapes I'm trying toconvert to DVD's. They won't play due to moisture. Thy've been that way for over a month. Does anyone know how to dry them out to make hem playable.

    Try to collect some of these silicate bags (or buy some at you chemists).
    Put tapes and silicate together in a sealed box.The silicate will absorb any moisture.You can re-use it by roasting it at mild temperatues in the oven.

  3. Is it just several tapes or all tapes. My 8 mm Sony won't read any tapes due to a moisture sensor error. Just curious if others have had that problem.

  4. I solved the problem, but there are only a few pople that will benefit. I wear hearing aids, so I put the tapes in the Hearing Aid drier. They work now.

    It was 3 or 4 tapes out of 30-40 tapes.
