Programs not recognizing new Hitachi DZ-MV350a DvdCam

Hey guys,

I was just wondering what's going on....no programs will recognize this camera, not even some of the software that came with the CD when I bought it. Premiere won't...Ulead Video Studio/Ulead DVD Workshop don't either.

The only thing that will is the rather crappy propriatary (sp?) software that came with it "DVD-MovieAlbumSE".

Here's what I've been doing -

Recording the video, booting up DVD-MovieAlbumSE, EXPORTING all my captured video into MPG (Who knows the quality settings or anything, this program has 0 options) and loading it into premiere, then editting.

This really bugs me, I want to straight capture into premiere, but I don't see how since it doesn't pick up that the camera is there.

As well, the other software package that came with the camera "Sonic MyDVD" has a real problem with burning the MPEG2 (the one I created in premiere) back onto the camera...It says the camera could not be detected. However, when I use it's stupid ugly DVD menu system and creator to slap a tiny version of the MPEG2 right in the middle, it burns fine right onto the DVD....I really can't figure it out.

Since no other DVD authoring/Video Editting software will recognize this camera I'm really at a loss and I hope you guys can help me out some. Any help would be totally AWESOME.

Are there any plugins/methods I could use to take the video right off the camera into premiere? Will Premiere Pro be able to do this do you think?

As well...what about burning the MPEG2's back onto the camera? The Sonic MyDVD doesn't do a very good job...maybe its just me. But it says the camera isn't detected when I try to start transfering video from my computer back to the camera...ugh.
