  1. I just backed up my first movie last night and used CloneDVD. It worked great and took around 16mins to burn approx 4.2Gb. So I'm guessing it was writing at 4x speed.

I did not see any option on CloneDVD for write speeds. Is there an option to select 1x, 2x or 4x or does the program just write at the fastest speed possible?

    Thanks in advance.

I tried to do a search but didn't come up with an answer.

  2. I'm not sure about what burn speed its burning at but as an option you could create the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders instead (if you have ~5GB HD space) and burn them using a DVD mastering app. Just burn it as an ISO/UDF. For Nero, burn as an ISO/UDF and enable 'Force DVD-Video compatibility mode'. That way you would know what burning speed your using. Also some media (cheap), its better to burn at the slower speeds.

    Cheers.

I've reverted to having CloneDVD make VIDEO_TS folders, because it DOES seem too aggressive in choosing a write speed.

I've suggested letting people choose to Olli, hopefully it gets included in the next update.
