  1. I'm trying out latest TEMPGEnc DVD Author prog, but when it comes to write speed of DVD it wont let me change from 'Max' setting.
Does anyone know if this is possible on registered versions or does it still stay locked?

My DVD+R is 4x but need to burn at lower speed or I get playback problems on my old dvd player.

  2. From TMPGEnc DVD Author help tab:

    (2) Writing conditions

Write speed Specifies the speed for writing the data to the DVD. The default is "Max.".

(Note) In this version the most appropriate speed will be selected automatically.

  3. thanks for the reply.
It's great TEMPGEnc included writing tool in this version, but stupid that you can't specify write speed.
I note it states "in this version". Perhaps the next will!

  4. You can also burn with any software that will master data to a DVD. Just write the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS to a disk as an ISO/UDF.

    From help file...
The DVD-Video format is ISO/UDF Bridge.
For Ahead Nero, please burn it as DVD-ROM (ISO/UDF) and "Force DVD-Video compatibility mode".
That way you can burn at any speed.

    Cheers.

As time goes by the software will become more complex and I don't doubt you are right.
