  1. Hi everyone...

I have a copy of SWF2AVI that I've been using for test
purposes, I've also tried sveral other methods mentioned in the forums
as I've seen them posted over the last few months--I can get a fairly
decent video capture of my SWF files--what I can't seem to figure out
is how to make the audio to such great series as College University or
Stone Trek something that you'd want to hear. Since my Dad is a HUGE
Trekker (not that he'd like admitting it ;P) and my kid sister is about to
have a birthday\head off to college herself, I thought it'd be a nice
guesture to make a few VCDs with these series on them and give them
as 'rare one of a kind' gifts--only trouble is that try as I might I can't
    figure out this audio thing.

Since this touches on more than one issue I thought I'd
put the post here, so that it can be directed to the right place if it's not
supposed to be here. I'm hoping that someone could recommend _one
more way_ to do this stuff or at the very /least/ be able to give me a
nod to a audio filter that will reduce the loudness and smooth the sound
so that it doesn't sound so mono... I should mention at this point that
I am hard-of-hearing myself, so I have to rely on what my family tells
me and from their unanimous response to earlier attempts I know that
what I've been doing ain't good!

Any help given would be appreciated!!

  3. iWindoze,

I read somewhere else that converting from swf's produces terrible audio.

The last resort when you're having that sort of problem is to record the audio during playback (e.g. set up goldwave or soundforge etc.. to record from the soundcard, then play the swf file).

It makes it a pain in the *rse to trim the audio file and get it into sync with the video, but it can be done.

Sorry I can't offer more expert help, I've never tried any conversions with swf's, although I'm off to find out about the series you mentioned

    cheers,
    mcdruid.

  4. Thanks for the reply.

I've tried that before, but inevitably it seems the audio is never in synch--
oh sure, it may _seem_ to be at first, but then later down the line...

[iWindoze sighs] Well thanks again anyway, I'm glad that at least /SOMEONE/ in here is willing to try to help people...
