    What program can I use to rip a movie to my HDD and will also be able to read a scratched disc. I keep getting read errors in all of the programs I have used, including DVD shrink. I need some suggestions and appreciate any help you can give.

    I used to have a pretty badly scratched dvd. Try using dvd disc cleaners from Bestbuy for around $20 to "repair" the DVD. It worked for me. If this works then make the backup.

    have u tried smart ripper???? whenever i have a problem with dvd decryptor or dvd shrink i use smart ripper and it usually works
