I am recording old football games. I am capturing it as an uncompressed avi file. The problem is, when ever there is alot of motion in the scene, there are lines in it. Such as, when someone is waving there hand, the hand is really blury, with lines over it. I don't really know how to explain it better.
If I capture it as an mpeg2 file, the footage is fine. But even after I compress the avi to mpeg2, the blured lines are still there.

You have what is called interlacing. If you want to view your video on your computer only, you will have to deinterlace, in Virtual DEub's filter or some other application. If the final product is to viewed on a TV, ignore the lines. They will disappear when viewed there.
