  1. Is it possible to burn on DVD, multiple slideshows with music and transitions all in sync (exactly the way it appears when you preview it). If so, can anyone recommend a software that is user friendly and will do the above mentioned. I had used Photoshow by *simplestar, but although software was very user friendly, its limitations were disappointing.

Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.

Lastly, is it impossible for me to somehow burn to DVD what I have already done in Photoshow (*by simplestar), eventhough their software does not offer the choice to do so?

    Thanks

What formats can Photoshow export too? I you can save it as an avi, then all you need to do is encode the avi to a dvd mpeg-2

  5. Does PROSHOW GOLD burn right to DVD format (viewable in most DVD players)? And can you burn multiple slideshows?

I recently got version 4.5 of Sonic MyDVD. I wanted to put together a series of slideshows with music of my daughter's wedding. I used this software to add 9 slideshows and 1 wedding video. You can create submenus as well. I think the limitation is 99 menus but I'm not totally sure about that. BTW, all the menus were motion menus.

MyDVD burns what they call the OpenDVD format. Somehow suppossed to be compatible with more settop DVD players. So far only one player had trouble with the DVD (out of 5); I'm still trying to find out what kind of player that is.

I've been very pleased with results of this program. I am very new to making home DVDs and the program was very easy to use. However, I have discovered a bug in the program. When you pick the Burn button it gives you a choice of making multiple copies. DON'T MAKE MORE THAN 1 AT A TIME. Sorry about the yelling but I destroyed 2 DVD+Rs learning this. The first time it happened I thought it was bad media. So I tried again with the same results. I reported this to Sonic Support and they indicated it was a known issue and suggested I make only 1 copy at a time. Well, DUH!! At least they responded postively. They intend to correct the problem in a new build but no indication when that will be.

Other than that problem, MyDVD seems to be a reasonable choice for me. Oh, one more thing; MyDVD seems to want to transcode all audio to wav format (i.e. uncompressed) so the more audio the less space for slides and video.
