  1. Hi just started out on this game, this site is real cool, and looks like a lot of you guys no heaps about the subject.

    The problem I have is i uses snartripper, DVD2AVI and then Tmpgenc (all latest versions) to write output using sevys SeVCD template, the audio side on the Video CD is low in output, it is not distorted though.

    Any ideas what im doing wrong?

    I think you should check your settings in DVD2AVI.

    All Audio settings:

    Under 44->44.1 KHz see that "ultra high" is checked

    See that "Normalization" is checked and when the Volume gauge appears, move it to a higher level.

  3. part of the reason for this is that DVD audio has a higher dynamic range than CD audio, so that when you record you want to make sure the loudest DVD sound doesn't exceed the range of 16-bit CD audio. since the loudest sounds on a DVD are usually much greater than the rest of the soundtrack, you must make normal sounds comparatively quieter (and very low sounds almost disappear) in order to avoid distortion.

    I know this might sound a bit stupid

    but make sure your volume controls within windows
    are set to max ie for yoyr soundcard etc

    just my twopenneth
