I was wondering if there's an easier way to go from DIVX to SVCD without having to waste so much file space in the process. I would like to take 2 DIVX AVI files, merge them into 1, then use DVD2SVCD to get 3 VBR Mpeg2 files ala CCE which would eventually get burned to 3 CDR's.

The (2) source AVI's when combined would give total length of 2h30m. They both have compressed audio and I use Vdub to append 1 to the other but it complains about the audio so I have to take each AVI and save with uncompressed audio in order to do the merge. This result in 1 AVI that is 3Gbytes + which seems all unnecessary since more of the data is audio, not video.

Is there a better tool or easier way to do this?? If I just took each original AVI and made only 2 CDR's (for a 2 and a half hour movie), obviously, the bitrate would be less and quality would suffer.

TIA, synchron.
