  1. I have heard of people having compatabilty issues playing on DVD players after burning at 4x speed as opposed to 2x.

They have no problems playing back a disc that was burned at 2x on various players but after burning the same file at 4x they don't play back on as many DVD players.
    Any truth to this?

If I have stored my material on my harddrive as a global image using Record now max from a DVD-R will I be able to burn a new disc with the A06 as a DVD+R?

    Thanks for any help.

I can't comment on the A06 specifically because I don't own one, but I have made ISO images using ImgTool and burned the same image to both -R and +R media on my Sony drive without problems (using both Nero and DVD Decrypter). I think it's a pretty good bet that you will be able to do this with RecordNow Max.

  3. If you read the other posts, you will see bad media and hacked firmware often make poor bed-fellows.

If you force your hardware to write a disc at a speed it's not been manufactured for, you are tempting fate. Media is a thorny issue - I won't go into details here because many of these forum posts relate to media issues - but if you adopt the correct write strategy for the disc then it should make no difference what speed you record at.

  4. I have a Pioneer A06 and am using Verbatim DVD+R from Sams Club writing at 4X with no problems using Nero. I play them back on both of my Panasonic DVD players with no problems.
