I got some divx and xvid avi's which have a fps of 23,976 and i like to make dvds out of those. I normaly use tmpgenc to make svcd and there i can select the template svcd ntsc film but i can't with dvd templates. what should i do for dvds?
My tv and dvd-player can play both PAL & NTSC.
Greatings,
Yf

download this utility and run it. after you have an elemantary stream
(.m2v) made with tmpgenc @23.976fps. It's called pulldown and you can research what it does

Select/Load the dvd ntsc template and then change to 23,976 fps under Framerate and 3:2 pulldown when playck under Encode mode, all this under Settings->Video. This is "ntscfilm", same as svcd ntsc film.

I tried your option. made a .m2v and kept the origional .ac3 file. then authored with maestro. But when i play it on my dvd-player it has some big pauzes every few seconds.

Yes, well, YF, check the m2v you made using TMPGEnc to see if it happens there also. BTW, you can fit 3 movies/DVD high-res with KDVD (SHORT movies, mind you).
P.S.: Does mind you sound too British for me? I'm USAian. -
Hey,
I burn the .m2v & ac3 with dvdlab and that did fine but no i got the problem i can't put in my subtitles.

I'll tell you what. This sucks for you, but since you have subtitles, here goes.
IFOEdit to make yourself an IFO with subtitles using the VOBs you made in DVDLab. Get IFOUpdate, load the IFO from DVD-Lab as the original IFO, and the IFO from IFOEdit as the authored IFO. This will make your DVDLab IFO know abou the subtitles. Hit all the buttons, and use the VOBs from IFOEdit and that updated IFO from DVDLab/IFOUpdate. I hope this works, I've never done it before.
