    I just got a NEC dvd+rw writer and wanted to back up my ps2 games collection. Im thinking about getting a flip top lid and a swap magic disc but was wondering if dvd+r are compatible (i.e. do they work)with earlier models of ps2 (v1-3) cos i heard somethin about v1-3 lasers not being strong enough to read the discs or somethin...but im not sure if its true cos im a real novice in this area
    Also my friend tlod me about 'hong kong silvers' but im not sure what they are and would the ps2 v1-3 still be able to read these type of discs?
    Any help/advice would b great!

    I have a new Ps2 about four month old yes it read's DVD+R and DVD+RW
